Introduction
Our Academy ethos of ‘Empowering Learners for Life’ stretches well beyond academic performance, therefore we are committed to providing a wide variety of enrichment opportunities for our students.
Extra-curricular Activities
We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs for our students to attend. Our staff offer clubs before school, at break and lunch times and after school. In addition to the weekly sessions, we enter sports fixtures and competitions that are organised for the Newcastle Schools. Students are rewarded with an 'Enjoyment' point for attending any of these sessions.
Please see the timetable of sessions for the Summer Term below:
Curriculum Enrichment
We have a dedicated enrichment lesson on the school timetable (Thursday 3a), where students will experience an extensive range of enrichment activities. These mainly fall into 3 categories; creativity, living in the wider world (community, careers, leadership) and physical and performance activities. All students in each year group will have the same experience, they will rotate every half term.

PSHE Education
Children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. During our weekly PSHE lessons, students explore ways to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal, and social lives in a positive way.
In addition to our weekly PSHE lessons, we also work in partnership with organisations such as The New Vic Theatre to deliver PSHE related workshops to enhance learning around the topics covered within the PSHE curriculum.
